Tr. P.I.R Day demonstration Mini Grant
The Bonneville Power Mini Grants are designed to offer educators the opportunity to show the connection of the information and resources they receive at the Tribal PIR Day into the classroom.
Each grant (up to $500.00) will assist educators in compiling a creative document showing:
- A resource introduced, built, and/or utilized in the classroom.
- An activity the class participated in related to a specific PIR Day session
- An event produced from the information/resource they learned about at a PIR Day
- Connection with a speaker to further explore a subject related to their classroom curriculum.
- Materials purchased or reproduced for classroom use.
The process has been designed by the Tribal Education Department and is given to school administrators to determine the eligibility and disbursement to the educators in their schools so that the funds fit each schools specific need.
PROCESS:
Each school administer will be responsible to inform the Tribal Education Department as to their decision of eligibility. i.e.: If funds will be specific to High school teachers, middle school teachers, elementary teachers, educators of a specific subject matter, or if the opportunity is open to all educators in the school.
Grants are predetermined as to the amount that each school district receives, as follows:

- Proposals will be received November 16, 2009 through January 6, 2010
- Projects will be completed by April 16, 2010
- Project reports will be due May 3, 2010
Two documents of the completed project must be submitted to the Tribal Education Department through your school administrator.
Should all the funds not be requested by January 7, 2010 the remaining funds will be open to ANY of the above listed schools to request on a 1st come first serve basis additional funds. This will also be true of any “reverted” funds that may be received back to the Tribal Education Department.
